WITH HISTORY COMES HISTORIC TOURIST PLACES  OF INDIA 

1) TAJ MAHAL

The TAJ MAHAL  ('Crown of the Palace') is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the right bank of the river Yamuna in Agra, Uttar pradesh, India. It was commissioned in 1631 by the fifth mughal emperor, Shah Jahan (1628–1658) to house the tomb of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal; it also houses the tomb of Shah Jahan himself. The tomb is the centrepiece of a 17-hectare (42-acre) complex, which includes a mosque and a guest house, and is set in formal gardens bounded on three sides by a crenellated wall.


2) QUTUB MINAR 

The QUTB MINAR, also spelled Qutub Minar and Qutab Minar, is a minaret and "victory tower" that forms part of the Qutb complex, which lies at the site of Delhi's oldest fortified city, Lal Kot founded by the Tomar Rajputs. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site in the Mehrauli area of South Delhi, India. It was mostly built between 1199 and 1220, contains 399 steps, and is one of the most visited tourist spots in the city.



3)RED FORT

The Red Fort, also known as Lal Qila is a historic fort located in Delhi, India, that historically served as the main residence of the Mughal Emperor. Emperor Shah commissioned construction of the Red Fort, on 12 May 1639, when he decided to shift his capital from Agra to Delhi. Originally red and white, its design is credited to architect Ustad Ahmad Lahori, who also constructed the Taj Mahal.



4) HAMPI

Hampi or Hampe, also referred to as the Group of Monuments at Hampi, is a UNESCO world Heritage Site located in Hampi (City),Ballari District now Vijayanagara District, east-central Karnataka,India .Hampi predates the Vijayanagara Empire; it is mentioned in the Ramayana and the Puranas of Hinduism as Pampa Devi Tirtha Kshetra. Hampi continues as a religious centre, with the Virupaksha Temple, an active A di Shankara-linked monastery and various monuments belonging to the old city.


5) GATEWAY OF INDIA

The Gateway of India is an arch-monument completed in 1924 on the waterfront of Mumbai (Bombay), India. It was erected to commemorate the landing of George V for his coronation as the Emperor of India in December 1911 at Strand Road near Wellington Fountain .He was the first British monarch to visit India.


6) INDIA GATE

The India Gate (formerly known as All India War Memorial) is a war memorial located near the Rajpath (officially called Kartavya Path) on the eastern edge of the "ceremonial axis" of New Delhi . It stands as a memorial to 74,187 soldiers of the Indian army who died between 1914 and 1921 in the First World War,
in France, Flanders, Mesopotamia, Persia,East Africa,Galipoli and elsewhere in the Near and the Far East, and the Third Anglo Afgan War.
